Already underway in Asia and the Middle East, the StartUp Explore program is now available in Africa. Business start-up consultancy HexGn and the Islamic Economic Foundation for Africa (AFRIEF) are teaming up to launch their flagship program on the continent.

The partners aim to accelerate the careers of Africa’s youth, including students and graduates, towards the innovation economy. HexGn Start-up Explore is an action-learning program that equips participants with development skills in critical thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

For Africa, HexGn is offering 100,000 licenses for the StartUp Explore program which will train and support as many young people each year. Who will become founders and owners of businesses, job creators and technology experts. The breadth and size of this program make it one of the largest skills and career acceleration initiatives on the continent.

Its promoters hope that this high-end 24-week program, which will be offered to young Africans with high potential through scholarships, will form a basis for prosperity in Africa. Through the program, they will take courses in high-growth industries such as Artificial Intelligence, Agro-technologies, Cybersecurity, E-commerce, Social Media, Games and Entertainment, as well as Fintech.

They will also be able to acquire the skills necessary to be an entrepreneur. The program will allow participants to identify and make the most of future opportunities that will lead them to quality employment, will allow them to succeed in the most varied situations.

Participants will receive an end of program certificate. They will be able to take additional courses in the technology of their choice, in order to acquire more in-depth expertise and specialization in all sectors and industries, create their start-up or participate in a remote internship on a global scale.

Acquire job-creating skills!

The program is carried out in the Middle East, Central Asia, India and Africa. Many participants in these entrepreneurship preparation programs have won worldwide recognition, investments and various awards.

By learning global skills, young Africans can access the global job market, say the initiators of the program. The pandemic-induced new “work from home” standard has made futuristic tech jobs accessible to young people around the world.

Baba Yunus Muhammad, Chairman of the Africa Islamic Economic Foundation, commented: “Entrepreneurship is a vital source of change in all facets of society, enabling everyone to seek opportunities where others see insurmountable problems. .”

The leader said he was “happy to see that entrepreneurship plays a vital role in finding solutions to the enormous challenges facing the African continent.” He cited energy, environment, health, safety and education in particular.

Baba Yunus Muhammad has no doubts that this collaboration with HexGn will accelerate tech entrepreneurship in Africa. “Rapid growth and significant risk by leveraging decisions based on one principle: acquire skills.”

For his part, Japreet Sethi, CEO of HexGn observed, “We cannot have unbalanced growth, where only one part of the world innovates and the other consumes.” The next decade, he considers, will see the rise of African innovators and this in turn will lead the African continent towards an innovation-based economy.
